Golden Delicious
serves 3-4
  • 4 Marlene® Golden Delicious apples
  • 2 eggs
  • 120 g of Kamut flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100 g of butter
  • 125 ml of milk
  • 100 g of sugar

  • 1 tablespoon of grappa
  • 2 tablespoons of rum
  • Frying oil
  • Icing sugar to taste
  • Cinnamon to taste

  • Mix the flour with the milk until smooth
  • Separate the egg whites from the yolks
  • Set the egg whites aside in a bowl
  • Add the yolks to the mixture
  • Carefully heat the butter
  • Add a little salt to the mixture
  • Add the sugar to the mixture and to the egg whites
  • Beat the egg whites until smooth and creamy
  • When the butter is liquid, add it to the mixture and stir
  • Add the egg whites to the mixture and slowly stir them in
  • Peel the apples, remove the core and cut them into slices about 1 cm thick
  • Dip the slices in the batter and fry them in sunflower oil at about 170 °C
  • Flip the apple donuts once so that both sides take on a golden colour and are evenly cooked
Serve the apple donuts on a plate and, if you wish, finish with a little icing sugar.
