GOLDEN DELICIOUS
Characteristics and uses:
a favourite with children because of its high sugar content, also contains vitamins that help prevent skin ageing. Ideal raw, perhaps in a fruit salad, or in cakes, tarts, cocktails and compotes.
Appearance:
from yellow-green to golden yellow in colour, may have red tones; smooth and clean skin. Elongated truncated cone or spherical shape; medium to large in size. Off-white flesh.
Flesh:
juicy and delicate, crunchy and firm.
Taste:
sweet and slightly tart; delicately aromatic; lightly fragranced.
