MARLENE® APPLE BLOOM CARPETS THE ADIGE VALLEY WITH COLOUR
Between April and May, thousands of white blossoms signal the start of the Marlene® apple season
In South Tyrol, where Marlene® fruits are cultivated, thousands of white blossoms and pink buds herald the end of winter and the start of spring. This is the spectacular flowering of the apple blossom that occurs between April and May, when a sea of colour carpets the Adige Valley in the heart of the Italian Alps, where delicious Marlene® apples are grown. It is an awakening not only of nature but also of the senses, for those fortunate enough to witness this striking natural spectacle.
This miracle initiates the growth of the fruits cultivated in over 10,000 hectares of apple orchards in South Tyrol by the 5,600 member farms of the VOG Association, which tend the Marlene® fruits throughout the growth cycle: from flowering and maturity through to harvesting.
